Chesapeake Bay 2010 Trust Fund 

In February 2009, CRA and Kent County received a grant from the Chesapeake Bay 2010 Trust Fund. The agriculture part of the grant request included two precision farming programs, manure sheds for grain farmers, and additional support for cover crops and switchgrass. Because of funding cuts the original grant was reduced but will include funding for 200 acres of cover crops and two GreenSeekers. The money will be available by September 2009. Money for cover crops and manure storage structures will hopefully be available in the 2010-2011 fiscal year depending on the state budget.  Please note: CRA will not receive any money for staff or administrative costs under this grant. We are expected to provide the staff required to implement the grant as part of the grant’s matching requirement. We want to make sure that our donors are aware that their contributions will be leveraging the 2010 Trust Fund dollars coming into our watershed.
